On Mandela Day, 18 July 2017, The Mmabatho Palms Management and staff visited Oratile Semunza Disability Centre in Makhubung Village, just a stone throw from Mahikeng.

The Disability home has a total of 37 beneficiaries ranging from 5 to 46 years of age. The home has one bathroom, two dormitories, male and female ablution areas, 1 classroom, kitchen, recreatio room and dining area.

The team did not only spend time with the beneficiaries giving them love. We also did thorough cleaning, laundry, put new curtain rails, fixed lights, new vinyl tiling in the previously cemented dormitories, decluttered all rooms to give a new look and feel, fitted a bath tub in the only bathroom which only had plumbing pipes and holes for taps, erected a corrugated iron storeroom. Old patio furniture and linen was also donated.

The highlight of the day was a braai and a Mandela Day cake especially baked for them by our kitchen.
