Mmabatho Palms Hotel, Casino and Convention Resort is proud to announce that Chef Johan de Kock, a renowned South African chef, known for his contemporary approach to classic dishes, has joined Mmabatho Palms as head of the resort’s kitchen.

Having started his career in the military, Chef Johan quickly climbed the culinary ladder to hold Executive Chef positions at a variety of well-known local and international restaurants in South Africa and Zambia, as well as in five-star establishments in the Middle East. His vast experience, gained from training and working with some of the world’s top chefs, is expected to add immense value to his new role. “I take a hands-on approach to ensure my team is well-trained and empowered to hold their own in a demanding and high-stakes culinary environment,” says Chef Johan. “We’re ready to bring a range of delicious dishes to an already world-class establishment, and look forward to the challenging but fruitful road ahead.”

Chef Johan has won multiple awards for his unique and elegant dishes which remain a testament to his skills and dedication to excellence in the kitchen.
