The food was great, and the aesthetics were amazing, but the service was lacking. The waiter forgot several of our orders, mixed up our sauces, and was slow to attend to us.
Mmabatho Palms had its highlights, but honestly, the sound system really let the event down. The music was supposed to set the vibe, but there were a lot of technical issues. The speakers had this crackling noise, and at times, the mic made this unpleasant sound, which kind of took away from the experience. It’s a great venue overall, but the sound setup definitely needed some attention that day. Despite that, I still managed to enjoy the event—it just wasn’t perfect. , I have to say the decor and food at Mmabatho Palms were spot on! The setup was beautifully done, creating such a classy atmosphere, and the food was absolutely delicious.
We didn’t have a booking, but we were warmly welcomed. The service from our waiter was excellent. However, the changing of waiters can be a bit confusing at times—while I don’t recommend it, the service remained great nonetheless.
We waited quite a while for our food, but the chef personally apologized, explaining that the queen prawns took longer to prepare. I do wish they offered more sauce options for those who are lactose intolerant.
As for the dessert, it was exceptional—worthy of a Michelin star (the chef will understand).
One note: please reduce the waiting time or at least inform us upfront how long the food will take. Overall, thank you for the experience!
